Oceana Whispers Floral Boutique was extremely honored this past weekend to donate all of the flowers for a lovely traditional English tea, presented by the Milton District Hospital Auxiliary. The beautiful event was held in a gorgeous century farmhouse and the tables were exquisitely designed. The menu was a selection of sandwiches, truffles, angel cakes, scones with an assortment of fine jams, devonshire clotted cream and English Ringtons Orange Pekoe Tea. Catering was generously donated by La Rose Italian Bakery & Delicatessen.
The Friendship Tea was to honour longtime supporter and cherished volunteer, the late Rita Ward.
The Milton District Hospital Auxiliary is a highly visible volunteer organization throughout the hospital. Founded in 1959, The Auxiliary membership boasts over 270 adult and youth volunteers. Members of the MDH Auxiliary can be seen throughout the hospital performing a number of activities. The volunteers strive to enhance services which the Hospital offers to its patients. The Auxiliary holds many fundraising events. The money is donated to MDH and is used to purchase new equipment. New Auxiliary members are always welcome. Besides fundraising activities, volunteers assist with patients in the Emergency, complex continuing care and Obstetrics areas, and are involved in the organization of tours and special events.
Volunteers Take Time to Care - Our volunteers supplement the work of our staff by spending the time to touch the lives of our patients and visitors by helping them throughout the hospital.
